ICYNENE LD-R-50® spray foam insulation is a revolutionary, renewable-based formula made using castor oil. This has many environmental and health-related advantages. LD-R-50 is a one-step performance material which both insulates and air seals a building for the lifetime of the structure. Icynene LD-R-50 is guaranteed to perform as specified for the life of the building.
- R-value = 3.7 per inch
- <5% water absorption
- Vapor permeable, support bi-directional drying of assemblies
- Soft, flexible composition maintains an air seal even after seasonal expansion/contraction of building assembly
- Open-cell structure with air, 100% water-blown, Light density 0.5 lb.
- HFC- and PBDE-free

Traditional Closed Cell Polyurethane Spray Foams:
Non-Icynene Closed Cell Foam March and Martin offers several different manufacturer’s products for chemically blown, closed-cell, 2-lb spray-applied polyurethane foam. The initial R-value for many of these foams is 7.0 per inch with aged R-value varying depending on manufacturer.
Thermal & Ignition Barrier:
DC-315
Paint
to Protect
DC315 Paint to Protect applies as easy as regular latex
paint and being
water-based it cleans up in a snap. This product is
designed for use on
interior polyurethane foam
surfaces.
- Satisfies IBC code compliance for “15 Minute Thermal Barriers”
- Low emitting material in the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) rating system
- Passed strict EPA – VOC and AMQD tests
- Non Toxic, Low Vapors, Low VOC less than 50 making DC315 a Green Product
As a Thermal Barrier:
- Icynene LD-C-50® - DC 315 @20 wet mils. (13 dry mils)
- Icynene MD-C-200™ - DC 315 @22 wet mils. (14 dry mils)
As an Ignition Barrier:
- Icynene LD-C-50® - DC 315 @ 4 wet mils. (3 dry mils)
- Icynene LD-R-50® - DC 315 @ 8 wet mils.

Infrared Thermography
Infrared Thermography scans are performed with a specialized camera from the inside or outside of a building to detect heat loss and air leakage in the building envelope. March & Martin performs a scan to check for the effectiveness of insulation (or lack thereof) in the building construction. We use Infrared Thermography to detect where insulation is needed within a building. When insulating a “drill & fill” project where the jobsite has finished walls, we use the scans for quality control to make sure there are no voids or air pockets within the closed, non-visible area we are insulating.
